The site never falls back to a local path, private asset, unsigned build, or unverified URL.

Choose the correct build

Apple Silicon and Intel are separate downloads.

A DMG must match the processor in your Mac. PinShift never redirects both buttons to one unverified universal-looking file.

How to check your chip

  1. Open the Apple menu in the top-left of your screen.
  2. Select About This Mac.
  3. If the window says Chip: Apple M…, choose Apple Silicon.
  4. If it says Processor: Intel…, choose Intel.

Compatibility policy

The provisional Apple Silicon floor is macOS 11 or later because the current arm64 executables require macOS 11. Intel remains unavailable until it has its own build and hardware validation.

Installation

A familiar drag-to-Applications flow.

These instructions apply once a qualified public DMG is available. They do not authorize bypassing Gatekeeper or Apple security controls.

1. Verify the download

Compare the published SHA-256 with the file you received. A mismatch means you should delete the file and download it again from this page.

2. Drag PinShift to Applications

Open the DMG, drag PinShift into the Applications folder shown in the window, then eject the mounted disk image.

3. Open the verified app

Launch PinShift from Applications. A qualified release should pass normal Gatekeeper checks without firewall workarounds or disabling macOS protection.

Verify SHA-256

Open Terminal and run the command below after the public DMG has finished downloading. Compare the output character-for-character with the checksum in the release panel.

shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/PinShift_*.dmg

If more than one matching DMG exists in Downloads, verify the exact filename instead of using the wildcard.

Developer Mode on iPhone

Developer Mode is an iOS setting, not a Mac installer option. Connect and trust the iPhone first. If PinShift reports that Developer Mode is required, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Developer Mode on the iPhone, follow the restart flow, and confirm on-device.

First run checklist

  • Use an unlocked iPhone that you own or are explicitly authorized to test.
  • Connect with a data-capable USB cable and accept the Trust prompt on the iPhone.
  • Open Devices and wait for every required readiness step.
  • Choose a test coordinate or route, then start the simulation.
  • When finished, use Stop and restore real location before disconnecting.

If macOS shows a security warning

Do not disable Gatekeeper, remove quarantine attributes, or run a copied shell workaround. Confirm that the URL is this site's qualified release URL, verify the checksum, and check download status. A warning on a supposedly qualified release should be treated as a release defect.
